What is MRT?

(& DV-MRT)

MRT stands for 'Moral Reconation Therapy,' a well-known, evidence-based program utilizing a weekly group setting. The term 'reconation' is a blend of the familiar prefix of 're' combined with an older term, 'conation,' built from the Latin root 'conatio,' related to effort and intentions. The term 'moral' is used to refer to the individual's sense of what is appropriate, so that 'moral reconation' is a process of a person reevaluating and/or adjusting that sense. MRT focuses on the inner self, our own best version of ourselves, and how we can improve our ability to find that version of ourselves in and around challenges we may face in life. Designed to enhance self-image and promote the development of a positive identity.

In addition to the standard curriculum, we offer the specialized Domestic Violence MRT track. This psychoeducational program applies the same cognitive-behavioral foundations relational accountability. DV-MRT is not a DVIT program; check your court-order to be sure before ordering.

- Clients choose their day and attend once weekly.
